No one is sure why, but people began playing the flute to take care of filthy street rats. Surprisingly, the origins of this practice may all be based on the tale of a child who loved rats. The boy chased, fed, and even washed adorable little street rats. One day he discovered a white rat that he thought was cute. He chased it all day without any luck. Not being able to find it again, the child started playing a flute in defeat, which attracted rats in town one by one. Forlorn, and desperate to find his favorite white rat, the child played and played, wandering around town, until he finally came upon the magnificent white rat.
